Quarterly/Monthly and Subspecialty CME Activities

How can I find the answers to the exam questions within the articles provided with the quarterly and subspecialty CME activities?

Once, you open the pdf document containing the articles, you can click Ctrl + F on your keyboard to search for keywords or the article title. On Mac computers, use Command + F.  You may also use the magnifying glass icon located at the top of the page to search the document.

Why are the Associated Articles all in one document?

This was changed to allow those who don’t subscribe to JBJS to be able to complete CME activities. One way to use the quarterly exam is to take the examination first, review your answers then consult the Associated Articles document to review the articles for the questions you answered incorrectly. You can retake the exam an unlimited number of times.

What is the Associated Articles spreadsheet?

It is an Excel spreadsheet for the Quarterly CME activities that tells you what article each question is taken from. This started with the 2017 Quarterly CME activities, so any activities before then will not contain the spreadsheet.

The PDF for the Quarterly exam comes up blank. What can I do?

  • Try updating whatever program you use to read PDFs (e.g. Adobe).
  • It is a large document, so it may take some time to load.
  • Try a using different browser and see if the content displays correctly.
  • If there is a download button in the window (typically a downward arrow), download the file.

Why can’t I print the CME examinations?

The examinations are designed to be online examinations. You do not have to complete an examination in one sitting. Once the answer to each question is completed, it is saved in the system when you log out and you will be returned to where you left off when you log in again.

Are the Monthly and Quarterly exams composed of the same questions?

Yes, the Quarterly CME exams are composed of the three Monthly exams for that quarter.  The Monthly exams were created in 2018 for those who would rather do their JBJS CME by the month, instead of every 3 months with the Quarterly exams.

Webinars

I attended a live webinar. How can I claim credit for it?
