This group of courses will review adult knee reconstruction including clinical presentation of arthritis, assessment, and imaging. The course will review treatment strategies including osteotomy, unicompartmental arthroplasty, and total knee arthroplasty. It will discuss implant types and designs as well as surgical techniques. Complications, rehabilitation and revision will also be discussed.
It will also review total hip arthroplasty including surgical approaches, implant types, and fixation types. Complications of total hip arthroplasty including periprosthetic infection, fracture, and dislocation as well as treatment of these complications will be discussed.
Oncology topics will include osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, Ewing's sarcoma, metastatic disease and pathological fractures, soft tissue sarcoma, giant cell tumor, aneurysmal bone cyst, simple bone cyst, tumors by location and biopsy principles.
